dont want these ducks

I have to ducks I dont want anymore because the male just beats up on my chickens. They are eating lots of the food and I want to get rid of them. what should i do with them????

Well....have you tried separating the ducks from the chickens? I have both ducks and chickens and I only let them interact when they're free ranging under my supervision. Are your ducks a mated pair or are they both males? I'd like to have some more information about your situation, if you could provide that.

You seem to have quite a bit of anguish towards them. I would suggest rehoming them. You can try the BST section or Craigslist.

Also just an FYI....don't dump them, not only is it pretty much a death sentence for a domestic duck, it is illegal.

But maybe you should add a little more info but if you are hell bent on getting rid of them put them on craigslist as free to good homes

Please don't dump them! Like the others have said, try separating them, even in their own pen at night time. Let them free range during the day if that is possible or find SOMETHING to separate them. Contact your local animal shelter, put an ad in a paper, craigslist, check local farmers market or co-op areas to re-home them.

Definitely try craigslist. If no one is interested in them for a fee, just offer them for free. Someone will jump on the offer!

I see that your location is "around san francisco" I live in the east bay and depending on how many you have, I would take them to either keep or rehome for you. I have room right now and only have two ducks at home. PM me if you want to do that. Otherwize try, selling or giving them away on craigs list or the buy/sell forum.

I had that same problem a couple of months ago. I had a male pekin duck, and raised him with two chicks. The chicks died, and he was trying to mount the hens. We got him a girl duck, to hopefully keep his mind off of the hens, but it didn't work. What I did was sell the couple to a duck farm where they are very happy. I sold them on craigslist and put what was happening in the post. I made sure that the buyer didn't have any hens around where the ducks would go. Hope that helped!

Where are you located?? And what kind of ducks are they, how old, etc?? I am about 3 hours from SF and could probably take them or find a home for them for you. Let me know
