So my leghorn bantams are on day 20 nearly day 21. Over night on day 20 the attached egg pipped and then some. We woke up to this today, so it's been like it roughly 10 to 16 hours.

My concern is the colour (why is there a black patch) and the position. We marked the air cells at the end of day 17 and it seems like it's miles out of place??

The five eggs have been rocking and rolling vigorously and this one and one other that hasn't pipped yet chirp sometimes.

Oh my anxiety!! Worse than having kids!

I can't see any black, but it's probably feathers or part of the bill. It is a bit out of place, but it should be fine. They can go at least 24 hours without progress and be fine. Update when it gets to the 24 hour mark and we'll go from there. Don't worry too much, chickens have been doing thos for a long time. I know it's stressful!

So after worrying myself silly all night I got up early and tried to help the wee one. Sadly to late, perfectly formed, everything absorbed etc 😢
The membrane had wrapped him I think as it had pulled away from the inside of the shell so I am guessing the hatching humidity is to low?

I have increased it but don't know if it will be to late for the others, one has an external pip and one is rocking and chirping.
