Hello fine chicken folks! We’re trying to figure out what Cleopatra here is (so named because of the “eye liner” as a chick). We hatched her from some eggs we got from a local farm as a 4H project. As she grew we noticed the 5 toes and as an amateur chickener myself (this is our first go around) I immediately went to google and cross referenced the five toes and her coloring as a chick and came upon the Dorking. Is it possible she is or is it just wishful thinking? Here are a bunch of pics of her as a chick and now.

Looks just like my EE. The eyes are hypnotic. She’s a sweet wonderful hen.

She could be a Dorking cross because her feather pattern looks like my Dorkings, but just very diluted in appearance. I would guess EE and Dorking cross, she has the grey blue leg coloring of an Ameracauna. I have pictures of my Dorkings in my Album and you can see the feather pattern is very similar.

Wait, now I’m confused. I thought the 5th toe was a Dorking thing? Is it not?
Yes, the extra toe is a Dorking thing, but that's not the only breed with this unique feature. Silkies, Faverolles, Sultans, Houdans, ect., also sport 5 toes. :) We really have no way of knowing for sure where the 5th toe came from in your girl's ancestry, but Silkie seems most likely.
