Dorking vs Cuckoo Maran, what's the difference

To a newbie like me, these birds look exactly alike. Is in the egg colour, or perhaps the nature of the bird.
Blowed if I know. I'm looking for brown Speckeldys as I have one already and want 3 more. But am being offered what look like Dorking pullets. My Speck


has a cowl, and brown feathers.

Help please can someone put me right. And is there anyone in Devon who has brown Specks? Or is she a one-off?
