Dorkings?

That's why we started raising them, too... I think we'll have the only Dorkings and BBS Orpingtons at our little fair this year.

You should be very proud of your son for his dedication to support a endangered breed and at such a young age. Job well done Mom!

Hopefully more people will fall in love with this breed. I would hate to see the numbers dwindle down to nothing.

That settles it, I will put in a order for some chicks. Twist my rubber arm

When Noah's reds get going we'll have to send you some eggs to get that gorgeous red boy a girlfriend!

I also fell in love with the Dorkings when I was researching which breeds I wanted in my small flock. I got some silver-gray pulletsfrom Randall Burkey this spring, and they are now 10 weeks old. They are calm, LARGE, and have beautifully soft feathers. I did not order a roo - I want to wait and see how they lay and how they do over the winter, but so far, so good. My research indicated that the males often share in taking care of the hatchlings...?

Large, like a Buff Orp? or larger?

Do yours have the extra toe? a toe sort of coming off another toe?

All Dorkings should have 5 toes per foot, with good separation on the last two like a silkie.

My hens are not as large as a buff orp, but the roo is BIG. Definitely an armload.
