Hi,
My bantam rooster used to rule the barnyard, and my 2 young large fowl roosters ran from him. Now it's the other way around, and I'm afraid my little one could get killed if caught. I've heard of tethering a rooster, but have never seen it done. How is this done? Any words of wisdom?

They have a large fenced yard of probably a half acre that they get to range in. Could I just find them a place and provide shade, food and water during the day and bring them back in at night?

How will they likely react? They're probably about a year old now, and gentle breeds. A Cuckoo Marans and an Ameraucana. This might also help my hens who I've had to put saddles on, but those don't protect their wings.
Thanks,
bethanyrae
