My Dot's gone broody for sure - sitting on golf balls and acting like a velociraptor making funny noises and puffing up her feathers. I don't have any eggs to put under her, I guess I can use a bunch laid tomorrow and let her hatch them out. I collect our eggs each day and refridgerate them - My Roo ensures they are all fertile. (Gosh he loves his work!) I can just let her have some eggs and not fridge them.

So Now what do I do?

Do I need to seperate her from the Flock - she acts horrible to the other pullets and hogs the favorite nest. I want to be sure she gets food and water - she really doesn't want to leave the nest.

This is still my first year and I don't have a clue what to do.

Other option: The feed store has some new chicks - should I get her a couple and put them under her at night? Would she guard them from the other chickens?

Wringing my hands with excitment!

Andy says go ahead and put some eggs under her. He is going to build a small coop for her and the babies this weekend. Oh! I am soooooooooooooo excited!!!!!! I was planning on building another new coop anyway for my marans that are coming in August!

He'll be building a coop and I will be with the Kids in Sarasota with the State Rowing competition!!!!!!

WOW!!!
