Do you have any tips or advice on taming baby cows? The cows in the pasture aren’t mine, but I can hang around them. There’s about 10. Some are longhorn mixes and they’re so cute!
We bottle feed all of our calves, so that helps a lot. Most of them also live in the barn for their first weeks of life, so they're around us a lot. I'd say if you could, let them see you a lot. Pet them a lot if you can. Move slowly and quietly until they warm up to you. Does that give you enough to go on?

Yes, it makes it hard because the moms are mostly scared of me too. But Wrangler (one who I tamed) did just have a baby so maybe I can get her baby to warm up to me. I can try to pet them and everything.

Do you know the owners? Maybe they would let you give the cows some treats. Some sort of sweet feed maybe?

I don’t think they would mind. They have their cows so they can breed and sell them. They do not like people to bother them, but they know I feed them and they are fine with it as long as I’m not hurting them and their not hurting me.
