Is it possible for a chicken to be double jointed in one leg? We noticed this about 1-2 months ago my "rooster" looks like he is double jointed in one leg. His knee is big and his leg turns out. He gets around just fine and hops when he runs. Is he ok? Do I need to do something?

What you are describing is slipped tendon not double jointed. The hocks often swell up when affected by Slipped tendon. There is nothing you can do on a adult bird.

He is only 3 months can I still do something or will he be fin if I just leave it?

It needs to be treated within the first few days of life. At this point there is nothing you can do medically unless a vet was involved. If free ranging he will be a easy target for predator. How long has he had this? Slipped tendon usually shows signs at a very young age. This could just be a untreated injury.

well we noticed it about a month ago and it isn't bothering him so thought he would be fine. I am just worried its something more and will start causing him discomfort and pain.
