Gathering eggs and found this. I have seen double yolks and a few other shell oddities but never this. The white is hard, like a shell. Brown is ... like a shell. I assume it's a double shell but the white is puzzling. After reading the sticky about egg issues, I learned pigment is added last so if this egg was shelled, then shelled again then pigmented, the shell underneath didn't get pigment. Which seems obvious! Anyway, thought I would share. None of my chicken owning friends have seen it either. And yes, it was just like this; all broken up and half off. I have not done anything to it, nor have I cracked it yet.

Odd. Looks like the egg was shelled... then shelled again.

What’s the texture of the white one like? Was it found in the state you’re presenting it to us in? It’s possible that one of your other eggs got shoved up into the shell of a broken egg, creating what looks like a double shelled egg.
