If you have a double yoke egg ( that's fertile ) will it hatch twin chicks?? Has anyone ever hatched twins?

It's extremely rare that you would get two live chicks. Do a search on here and you'll find quite a bit of discussion. Someone did hatch twins, but had to help them out of the shell bit by bit.

It has been done...there is a thread on BYC about it. The poster had to help with the hatch though. Honestly, I wouldn't even try. They almost always die just before time to hatch. There simply isn't enough room in the egg for them to grow and hatch.

Yes, in means there will be two chicks growing in the egg, but like the others said, it's very rare

that both of the chicks make it out of the shell. One of the chicks will be at the bottum of the egg,

and will have alot of trouble getting to the air sac.

Thank ya'll for your replies ~ I think for now on any more BIG eggs will just go in the frying pan and hope I need extra toast.
