double yolk egg!?

i have a double yolk egg that was supposed to hatch today (21 days) and it didnt hatch, i know they can be late sometimes though. i candled it and the whole inside was black, i couldnt see a thing. i dont know if it will hatch or not. what should i do??

I'd say just leave the egg alone till day 23 or more, then do a float test on it. There is tons of information in these forum threads for you to see. Happy chickening!

double yolkers are notorious for not having successful hatches. i've only tried one myself, and they formed perfectly but were unable to pip. =/ not to be all doom and gloom on you, but, that's the reality. you might be one of the lucky ones though, so, don't give up, and do a search on here for helping double yolkers hatch... there's at least one member on here who helped successfully hatch a pair, and she got the process on video as well
