I got one for you. I have 4 white and 4 brown commercial laying crossbreed hens. They are around 19 weeks old and all 4 whites are laying 1 a day now. Only one brown is laying, and she's doing it fairly oddly.

She has a single, extra large (63g+) egg every two days, and it's always double yolked.

I'm sure she'll get sorted out in the days and weeks to come, but it's curious. It seems like she's putting twice as much material into each egg, but laying half as often, as her white flockmates.

Anyone experience that?

I've heard of similar cases in new layers. Her body should start sorting things out soon.
