Doughy crop - alternatives to syringe feeding?

Ah - that's a second post about another one of my chickens - I decided to post one for each since they seem to have different issues.

If the crop is doughy, then you may want to give a different treatment. Coconut oil and massage.
1 Stool Softener popped into the beak may help break up what's in there and help get things moving.

The article you are following is very good, you can continue to follow that one. Syringe the concoction into her. If you stand the bird on a table, drape your arm over her, then you have more control of her body. You can use the draped arm hand to pull down the wattles, to open her beak.

A doughy crop can turn sour pretty quickly, so you may want to treat for Sour Crop as well.
