i found a white dove in my backyard several weeks back. Looked her (or him) over and did not see mites or anything crawly. But i treated with a drop of ivermection as a precaution. Have been looking for a friend for him/her, and all i could find on craigslist was a pair of ringneck doves, so i went and got them today. The young girl selling them for her mother didn't know a lot about them. i have them quarantined in a separate room from my first dove and plan on looking them over tomorrow. i thought i would do the ivermectin, and then treat all 3 with Wazine in the water.

My one concern about these new ones, is that the poo under one of them is very watery. Could that be a sign of something - worms perhaps? And i wanted to know from the dove experts what other health issues should i look for?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

They are not only doing well, they are cooing up a storm. i can see, perhaps, why the previous owner sold them. If you didn't want to hear non-stop cooing, these aren't the birds for you.

Luckily, both my husband and i love the sound. And our original white dove seems to like to hear the company. i want to quarantine them from each other for at least a week, by then i should be able to put together a nice aviary in the backyard for all of them.
