doves and Pharoah quail

Did I make a mistake putting doves in with my Quail? My Quail or in a pen roughly 15 foot wide and 18 foot long with an 8 foot ceiling my Quail were laying eggs quite regularly roughly about a dozen or so a day and since putting the dove in with the Quail I'm lucky to get 2 eggs a day there is no fighting and they all seem to get along well does anybody know what the reason for them to stop laying eggs?

How long have they been together? Birds will stop laying as much or all together if there is a change in their environment. I just put my odd pigeon out with my boyfriends pair of bobwhites because she was lonely and they have only laid one egg since and my other quail hardly lay at all for a while every time I move them into different cages. Once everything settles down it should go back to normal.
