down molt long after fflight feather molt? Why?

My geese molted flight feathers over a month ago and are now molting down. This has never occurred previously. It is coming out in major quanity!

I have ducks in pen by them who I feed brewers yeast supplement. Could that be a cause? Am concerned as winter is approaching.

perfectly normal. Molt is "expensive" in terms of amino acids and energy, so they don't molt all feathers at once. You geese are starting prealternate molt, where down and body feathers will be molted.
