Down not getting fluffy... Help!

So I had one chick hatch and it is such a doll! The only problem is that he/she has been out of the shell and resting for about an hour and a half to two hours and it's down is dried stuck to it's body. Is this normal? Is there something I should do for it?

That is totally normal. It takes time for the m to dry completely. Maybe 24 hrs or so. Congrats on the hatch!

Okay... I guess I'm just a paranoid chickie mommy! Should I just leave him/her in the bator for 24 hours or so? I can't fit a waterer in there. Will he/she be okay without water for that long?

New hatched chicks can go up to 3 days without feed or water. THey have a yolk sack, most of the time it is comepletely absorbed when hatched, sometimes its not. I leave mine in the bator at least 24 hrs before moving them out.
