Down to the last few days, new questions arise!

The Tomcat reusable rat traps worked really well for my family, BUT make sure it is NOT accessable to the chickens. We lost a hen because the trap fell out of the enclosed food zone and then the hen pecked it. Very quick kill though.
Also make sure you are placing your traps where the rat will actually be walking past. They like to stay near the edges of the room, so putting the trap against the wall at a 90 degree where the rat would have to go past might have more success.

Now I'm freaking out because the eggs are due tomorrow, and this whole weekend the temperatures are going to be around 100 degrees and humid. My girls aren't used to that kind of weather, but I can keep them cool, it's the broody and babies I'm worried about. Can't chill the babies , but the broody is going to be very uncomfortable.

Some people will argue against this but we had a broody hatching chicks in July in high heat and we ended up bringing her inside to hatch the chicks and her and the chicks lived in the house for about a month because I was so worried about them being in the heat.

This was our first broody ever so I was super paranoid.

@PachecoPeeps believe me, I've thought about bringing her in just for this weekend tho lol, I don't wanna raise any more babies in my house. That's why I bought this little bantam Cochin! She's in the flock for that special purpose. I'm not a fan of bantams.

@KikisGirls OMG OMG there is a pip!
I have to work grrr. I Can't see until later this afternoon, I'm dying.
Now I know how you felt when those horse eggs were hatching. I have been wanting to rip those eggs open for days and get the peeps out.
I don't know how I'm gonna make it until this afternoon without being able to see! Babies are coming babies are coming.

I'm gonna use electrolytes in chicken water during this freaky hot weekend.
Is it ok if I give my broody a shot in the mouth of nutridrench? She looks so tired.

Oh my gosh guys....... we got a pip!

Yes give her a shot of Nutri Drench to the beak...that is a great idea.

O M G!
GO! GO to work and so you can hurry up and get back home.
The chicks will be taking their sweet time so you will not (hopefully) miss anything!

:weeI knowww!
I'm so freaking excited I'm jumping out of my skin! After I killed 3 eggs in my inexperience of thinking 2 were dead, my stupid clumsy as$ self dropping 1, broody pooping on them, I didn't think ANY had a chance. Getting out of work at 1!

WOOT!
Hurry up one!
It's horrible...the waiting game.
Worse than sitting watching a pot to boil because you want SO bad to help crack the hole bigger.
I really think you will make it in time to see them hatch.
They take their sweet time until they are ready.
