draft curtain

When I got my chickens, the coop they came with had a curtain across the door like you're describing. It's made of some kind of heavy plastic that is tinted blue so some light goes through but it darkens the coop. There were two sheets of it, each with cuts that go from the bottom to about 2/3rd the height of the curtain--and the cuts are different spots (like I think one sheet has three cuts, the other two cuts halfway between where the other sheet has cuts.)

The chickens don't seem to mind head-butting their way through the curtain, and it definitely keeps down drafts when the door is open.

Now I have a new coop that doesn't have one, so I am trying to decide how to rig up a curtain for the new one. I'll probably use a piece of a shower curtain liner and staple it above the door.
