Midnight Lady soon saw the arrival of the vet. The vet kneeled next to her, spoke softly and stroked her forehead. After the vet had done all she could for the mare, she sat against the fence with Khloe, and gave her a warm smile. "I've done all I can. We just have to wait, but I'm staying right here. If anything goes wrong I'll jump in. The foal is going to come out backwards. It will mean a hard birth for old Midnight."
