"Your scowl only makes you more attractive," Fergus said with a chuckle. He dropped his head and pretended to graze. All the while, he kept his eyes on Winona.

Starry Night looked up from trying to nibble grain from the empty feed buckets. She'd spotted both horses.
Winona huffed. "Your attempt to disguise your staring at me needs work."

"Hey beautiful!" He nickered.

Fergus ignored Winona's remark. Lifting his head, he threw her a glance as he walked. "Want to come with a wild horse or go back to that--" he scoffed, "--human place?"

Starry Night nickered in response. When had he shown up? When had that other horse showed up? Must've been while she had her head buried in a feed bucket.

"There's areas on that I jumped the fence. And that was to become a wild horse. So what do you think is the answer, genius?"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"C'mere, there's some good grazing. It doesn't compare to that gross stuff."
"Hmph!" Fergus didn't look back as he walked. "You're welcome to join me or you can try making it on your own." His ears swiveled at the sound of a coyote's howl. "Take your pick."
Starry Night wasn't sure. Compared to dry grass, where she'd been grazing, this spilled grain was quite tasty. Still, Shadows was another horse, and being alone was too stressful. She walked up-and-down the fence, not knowing how to get in.
(Shadows is inside the fence, isn't he?)
"I'll come with you. Even though you're an idiot, I like you."
"C'mon!"
(No, he's wild)
"Yeah?" Fergus stopped, turning to look at her. "Well, even though you're hot-headed, I like you."
(dang it. She was supposed to meet a domesticated horse. I planned for someone to catch her)
Starry Night looked at Shadows then tossed her head and kept trying for a grain of corn. It smelled sooooo delicious.
"Good."
( do you still want Shadows to woo her? )
Shadows reached into the fence, grabbed a mouthful of grain, and dropped it by her.
Fergus smiled inwardly. He hadn't exactly won her heart, but he did have a mare tagging-along with him now.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

(Sure. I'd still like her to be domesticated. I wanted at least one of each. Do you have a spare trainer who catches horses?)

Starry Night pulled her head out of the bucket and lowered it to the grain Shadows had dropped. When she'd eaten it, she looked at him. "Um, thanks?"
