Hello!

I am traveling to get 6 ducks on Thursday, 2 months old. There are 5 females and one drake. I was wondering if I need to keep the drake separate from the females..Im new to the duck world. I've only ever had hens..but no rooster. I do not see the drake as a problem, but I have decided to get the females for eggs. However, if I keep the drake, there is the obvious chance of getting more ducks!

What are my options here? If the drake gets a female pregnant will the female hatch the eggs? Im new to all of this...any info appreciated!

You don't need to keep them separate. He will most definitely fertilize their eggs, but if you don't want more ducks just don't let them hatch any eggs. Take all the eggs every day and eat them. Easy :)

What @Pyxis said.

I have 5 females and one drake, newly added, and they get along great. Handsome Henry is a calm, quiet gentleman and has been wonderful with the girls. But if he was mean or abusive to them, I wouldn't hesitate to rehome him.
