Drake is not standing up very well...

Its too cold here in Washington for them to lay eggs now. I've been feeding them the layer since September.

If not laying eggs?..You switch feed to an all flock feed..I never use layer. I supply oyster shell in a separate dish when eggs are being laid..

I used to use DuMore poultry layer 16% crumble and possibly oyster? I can't get that feed cause the store that was carrying it shut down.

Just curious, why wouldn’t you use layer? Do you mean specifically for Drake’s? What if it’s just hens? I just recently switched my two girls to layer feed instead of crumbles mixed with oyster shells- will they be okay? I was reading about possible calcium deposits if I continued mixing in the oyster shells with the layer (which I won’t do). Are your suspicions of the drakes lack of standing due to calcium deposits in the joints?

Layer effects kidneys..I keep my Chickens on Grower and oyster shell on the side in separate dish..
My Ducks eat finisher, oat and Barely crumble and classic scratch grains..
If Birds are not laying?..No need for layer feed...
