drake messing with eggs is it ok???

my cayuga drake is the only duck ive seen in where all the eggs are... i have found some eggs like there smashed but all dried out... and hes the only duck i see around the eggs... every morning i find eggs and place them in with other eggs in nest if they were not layed in nest already... is he trying to get rid of the eggs or take care of them?? and is there anything i should be doing to not get eggs smashed???

I think I would try to create a more private area for the broody mom. People have used inverted plastic buckets, plywood, and even recycled kitty litter pan toppers. I'm not sure what your drake is doing, but I think you might be wise to keep him away from your eggs.

I agree. He may be trying to help, but if you protect the eggs just to be sure I think that would be good.
