My Mallard duck is approx 2 weeks old. "Quackers" feet are black and yellowish. DH claims it's a Hen because Drakes have orange feet. I'm thinking if it was that easy to tell, nobody would wonder how to sex ducks and that the color will come later. Who is right and if I am, when will they change color.

the colors of their feet is not a reliable way to sex a mallard..the easiest way to sex them before the obviouse green head on the males becomes visible is the voice..the females have a loud QUACK when they talk..the males is very soft..like a whisper almost..and then later is the curl on the tail of the males..the drake feather.

my hens had yellow beak and feet while the males had the greenish look, but that is not always true but it was for the 10 i grew out last year, this year a females has a greenish beak lol, wait another 4 week and listen to the difference is voice male is deep sounding, or another 6-8 for the green head to show up on the males,
