    Hello,

I´ve got almost one year old black east indie drake and four mallard ducks. I´m hoping to have ducklings, but the hens haven´t started laying yet and it seems to me the drake isn´t interested in them! They are together all the time.

I saw him pecking on them and repulsing them reseveral times even though they are ready to mate (mated with different drake a week ago).

He is with them for two weeks now, first week we had two drakes and the other one was pecking on this one.

Do you have any ideas what can be happening with him?

    Thank you for your replies.

Some seem slow to get the idea at first, from what I have read.

Hi Amiga, thanks for your reply.

So we have an slow drake? Awesome :-D

Is there any way how to "help" him find out what is he expected to do?
