drake to duck ratio?

You might just have to sell a drake. I know how you feel I recently had to rehome 3 drakes that I liked. But remember these are supposed to be farm animals, God put these animals on earth for us to have food. It is just part of raising animals

in the past few months, i’ve had to rehome two of my other drakes and then i lost one drake and a hen to predators. i really don’t think i could get rid of another one.

on my other thread, people were saying i should’ve been more prepared and should have gotten sexed ducks or something. but originally, i had the perfect setup. my two drakes that i was keeping would go together in one pen (my pekin boy and his only brother/other drake that he loved and wouldn’t fight) and then my two khaki girls would be in another pen. but sadly i lost my other older drake and one of my khaki girls, so i had to get the rouen hen and khaki drake as emergency friends her the khaki girl

Ok, just like other people said you keep asking about the ratio and if they can go together and it is no. I know you want to here a yes but that just won’t work

i have a pekin drake, khaki drake, khaki hen, and i’m pretty sure my rouen is a hen.

i’m not too sure about it, but i was wondering if by any chance this ratio could work?

right now we just have the khaki drake (6 weeks), rouen hen (6 weeks), and khaki hen (15 weeks) because my older drake is being petsit until we move.

any tips for introducing him to the other ducks when we go to get them back? will this ratio have any chance of working?

As long as your rouen is a hen your ratio is good but if it is a drake not so much

No, that's not true. You can't have two domestic drakes with two ducks. It might work with some species of wild ducks, maybe even mallards, but not with domestic ducks.

I had even ratio before and had no issues with Rouens and pekins

They all stayed together in the same coop with my chickens

I'm glad that it worked for you, maybe your drakes were very mild or maybe you have some special skill or something, I don't know. However, as a general rule, it won't work.

really? then maybe i’ll do that! if i absolutely need to i’ll add one more duck per drake but i feel pairs would be easiest
