I have a khaki Campbell drake that has a twisted bill. It was first noticed when he was about a month old. It continually twisted more and more. By now he is 8 months old and I believe the twisting has stopped. Is this a hereditary thing? Or is there some other reason this happen?

Is he safe to breed? I wouldn’t want any more ducks to be born with it if it does seem to be hereditary.

Scissor bill; it is hereditary and could pass on to the next generation and show if the trait is dominant. Should the trait be recessive it will be passed on but not show if the female does not carry the trait.

My suggestion is to not use him for breeding.
