Today my 1 year old khaki Campbell drake, Griffin, unexpectedly passed away. When I came home I found him weak and unable to move except for his head. His eyes were watering. I tried tube feeding him electrolyte but he died shortly after that. I’m pretty sure the tubing didn’t kill him - I’ve done it before and carefully followed the directions. My only guess is botulism. There is no bird flu in the area. He seemed ok in the morning. Griffin survived a mongoose attack last year (I posted about it here) and was such a brave survivor. He loved peas and going swimming. He was my only purebred khaki campbell, and I was planning on hatching some of his ducklings next month. Unfortunately he was not living with my girl ducks so I will never have any of his offspring.
