Well if this isn't the best picture I've ever taken of the coop ❄️🩵❄️

Yes! Night mode is great! Think of night mode on a camera as the iris and your pupil so when it's dark out your pupil gets bigger to let in more light so you can see better in the dark so when cameras activate their night mode it essentially opens more of the lens so the photo is over exposed to let more light into the lens and that's how you get these bright night time photos with that mode
Out of high school I took two years of Photofinishing Technology. Photography was one of the classes in there. You'd think I'd have remembered that, but no.

I didn't even know there was a night mode on these phone cameras. Somewhere around here I have a Nikon 35mm I gave up using years ago, but boy did that take good shots!

Im with you! I remember random trivia facts but couldn't tell you what I had for breakfast yesterday 😂

Also yes phone cameras are super advanced these days but nothing beats the real thing for sure! You should dig it out again and play!

That's like what it does for the Northern Lights. It is pitch black, around midnight when I ran down to the end of our driveway to take this a couple of weeks ago. How it makes it look like it's daylight is beyond me!

Complete with shadows! That's crazy cool!

It was -9 last night 🥶 but it stayed 8 degrees in the coop so 18 degrees over ambient but luckily today its been in the high 30s all day. They dont hunker down into their huddle box unless it drops below 10 degrees inside the coop I've found!
Do you have pics of your "huddle box?" It doesn't generally get that cold here (Thank Goodness for small favors!) but I'm sure there are plenty of BYCers who would love some pics and maybe a how-to. It would make a great article!

That's our main coop on the right in the distance, lit up. There is a yard light way over to the right side that keeps that side of the yard closest to the forest lit up, but not like this!
