Heat lamp or brooder plate or cozy coop

I’ve been using a brooder plate only for three sets of chicks and it has worked beautifully and feels very safe. It adjusts so you can raise they front as they get bigger. It was an initial expense (about $35) but I’ll be able to use it every time I get chicks, so seemed worth it. I used this one.
I’ve not had to put any chicks under it - they go on their own when they want to warm up and come out to eat and play.

Love my brooder plate. So easy and they love it. I make it more cozy by hanging some strips of fleecy fabric down the sides and they poo in and out like they are feathers.
No need for a heater.
Any chance you could return the heat lamp and use the money to buy the heating plate?
