I was checking on my flock and noticed one of my chickens foot is lumpy and misshapen. It looks like something that’s been going on a long time that I missed, but I know it wasn’t like that a month ago. She’s been acting normally and walking fine, I had scales leg mites a two months ago and treated the entire flock with Vaseline mixed with garden pest dust I was recommended on this site, when I saw her foot that was my first thought and I put some Vaseline on her foot (it’s visible in some of the pictures) does anyone know if I can fix this. She’s not separated as of now because she’s not acting weird and it’s nighttime but if needed I can set up a pen in the coop for her.

When you feel the swollen foot and then the other foot, is there a significant difference in the amount of heat?

You might do a soak in epsom salts (or just warm water) and get the foot clean to see if you can find any puncture wounds.

Her walking normally is a good sign, though I know that can change if it keeps progressing.

There is not a significant difference, but the swollen foot is slightly less warm than the normal foot, but she was roosting and sitting on her feet so I don’t know if that could change anything, I’ll be able to do a soak tomorrow
