I have 3 drakes10 mons Pekins housed separate from hens they have been on all stock feed by purnia for 3 mon they have never cleaned there feed bin but they did eat. Past week it's been colder than usual for here. days not above freezing they have hardly touched their feed they drink plenty and pig out on there morning treat which is always veggies or oatmeal or some eggs something different each morning. They are still happy/grumpy little self but do tend to go back to their run more and lay down which maybe because its so cold other than that they act normal is this normal should I switch feeds? My hens are 2-4 mons old and go to town on their feed which is grow n show by blue seal btw I catch drakes when everyone foraging in hens lot eating their feed a bit. Any advice is appreciated.

Well, if they are getting treats and raiding the hens feed, they may be getting enough. Are they also able to forage? If so, I don't think I'd be concerned. If you want to switch feeds you can but I wouldn't do it just because they aren't eating a ton. You don't want to encourage picky eating. If you do switch, do so slowly.

They do forage about 4 hours each day and treats every morn but ate food as well ill monitor them as for now their not losing weight.

Hiya, I have 2 drakes, they love any treat food I put down like corn, apples, cabbage leafs etc but hardly touch their proper food, occasionally they seem to go to town on their normal food and swamp down loads but this is once in a blue moon. They forage in the garden and have not lost weight, or anything and seem more than happy so I am not too concerned, I think its just the duck way? I guess if they can forage they get most of what they want that way?
