Dramatic Production Drop, Right?

Hmmmm, most of them hatched babies or are being good about letting me take what's under them now. That's where the 20 mutts and 6 of the roosters came from (other 2 are for sale).....

Only one is pure evil, so I'll go out and give her a good spray today....(She's jealous because her twin sister has a baby. It's Jerry Springer up in here....One hen stole another hen's right out of the nest because they kept falling out when they tried to escape [I installed a pillow under the nest]) Crazy...

Usually my drops in production are broody related - and not the way you'd think! If i have a nasty evil broody in even one box, it scares the bajeebers out of the other girls. Chicken souls that they are, they go find other places to lay. I think they have contest to find the least likely or silliest places as well.

As soon as the broody shakes it off, lo and behold my brave (yeah right) girls go right back to laying in the boxes like nothing happened.

LOL, I finally got 2 to either hatch or leave it so only 2 right now. One is a sweet banty cochin, and one is evil.

You wouldn't believe the places I've found eggs. The best was in a heat lamp with no light bulb, or no, maybe it was the old bee boxes with no screens. (I had to move those in and make boxes out of them they loved them so much)

Hhhhmmmm....I have a broody hen in "chicken jail" (a dog crate) that I'm trying to break of her broodiness. I might have to try the misting and see if that works.
