I posted on a local FB poultry forum ISO colored fertile eggs to boost the number of colored eggs in my coop.

A lovely neighbor gifted me a dozen blue eggs that she said were Ameraucanas. The ones that hatched had slate legs, chipmunk cheeks and hit every mark. It was a fantastic gift, but I'm never going to call them Ameraucanas. This forum and other Internet sites now give me extreme anxiety about it and it'd just be easier on my sanity to call them EEs to avoid angry Internet fights. I just wanted healthy birds that laid pretty eggs to sprinkle in the dozens I sell to coworkers. It's never been about having a certain breed.

Am I a bad person?

Absolutely not. You sound totally normal.

I get where you're coming from. They're everywhere nowadays. You can't get away from 'em.

Forget 'em. You do you and let the pieces fall where they may.

Congrats on the blue eggs. Who doesn't like blue eggs?

Peace

It really doesn’t matter unless you plan to show them, and it sounds like you don’t. Enjoy the blue eggs. I raised silver ameraucanas for years. Also had EEs. Both are great birds.
