Dreaming of Spring Gardening in the Middle of a Wisconsin winter part 2

Well, Lisa is probably sleeping well tonight after making hay.
I did not do any exercise so I am not sleepy. Went to bed at
midnight and got up at two AM. can't get to sleep. Probably
because I napped during the day. Can't help it. All of a sudden
I find myself waking up..
I suppose I get eight hours of sleep each day, but not all in
one lump.
Our deer family is back. they are not spooky. One walked
into the yard to see what I was doing when I was working on
the lawn mower. Yesterday we saw a doe and two very tiny
babies..
Annie bought some black kernel popcorn. If you see it
in the store,,,pass it up. I am going to feed the rest to the
bluejays.
tiny kernels when they pop and tough chewing..
even butter doesn't make them any better.

I know exactly what you're talking about, Jim. I rarely sleep through the night, and I rarely stay awake while trying to watch TV before I go to bed. Even if I'm watching a game show in the afternoon, I tend to nod off for maybe 10 or 15 minutes -- long enough that I often don't know who won the game.

When I lived in town, my backyard dropped off into a ravine above a creek and was a haven for whitetails. The deer eventually got used to me, and as long as I slightly turned my head and averted my eyes, I could get within just three or four feet of them. That only happened, however, when I was filling my bird feeders with what they clearly believed were deer treats.

My dwarf sour cherry tree, which had ONE cherry in 2022, has produced a full quart this year! The weather is supposed to be much cooler this week, and there's even a good chance of some rain to nibble away at the drought. I may bake a (small) pie!!

What's all this talk about being able to get a good night's sleep? You mean, there are people who actually DO that?
