Dreaming of Spring Gardening in the Middle of a Wisconsin winter part 2

Is it drying out any for you, Lisa? Or you, ShrekDawg?
It starts to dry out and than it rains again. Hay is really getting tall. It's frustrating. Weather guy can't predict nothing. It might rain, but it might not seems to be the forecast daily. I've taken to yelling at them when they are giving me those wishy washy answers. Wish they could hear me.

the sun is shining brightly and it is 51F at 7:eek:o am
Lisa, Mark Holly said you can cut hay today..
Spoken like a typical city guy, (Mark Holly). Do they even understand how nature works? I miss when the noon weather forecast was directed at farmers and it was more reliable.

four o;clock and I just about hit a wall.
I really gave it in the shop. finished all of the slats,, except for cutting them to length..
also have the wooden table top glued and clamped. will let it set overnight.
I made tons of sawdust. sure felt good.
also made some firewood. got some slats cut for the router table I am planning on building. they are actually rejects of slats that didn't look so good for her bench.
I even took time to go for a ride on Ollie.
and I put the weed whacker battery into the charger.
at least I think it is the weed whacker battery. lol
I think Annie is picking up six tomato plants for me.
I told her to not let DD Barby send any more than that.
One year she kept bringing me one more,, then a couple more until I had about fifty. I am wise to her trickery.
what she doesn't sell, she grows herself. and then she passes them off to me.. no more, sister.. lol

worked in the shop only for a little while today.
finished the wooden top for the drill press.
Annie wanted to clean up around the long neglected other apple tree. my boat was parked next to it for many many years. I had to use the loader to jerk out three large bushes blocking the boat from my pulling it out with the tractor.
scooped out about 3 bushels of composted leaves.
I moved the boat onto the parking area. I will wash it out and put it up for sale. somebody is going to get a good deal on a 12 foot boat.

I may NEED a 12-foot boat. I thought, or was hoping, that the rainy season was over. Today's forecast has proven me wrong, and rain looks likely for the next several days. That should help the grass and weeds grow even faster so I can do lots of mowing next week.

The kittens have figured out how to leave their "nest" under the steps and travel below the deck and over to the ramp. Suddenly, there are kittens underfoot everywhere! When the dogs come out -- on leash, of course -- the babies look like Halloween cats with their backs arched and all their fur standing straight up.

The Orange Zinger now has four green cherry tomatoes, and I not only harvested rhubarb yesterday, I cooked it into a sauce.

those kittens sound like a hoot.
we are dry here for a couple of days.
I hope Lisa is making hay.

this weekend is our eleventh annual get together for four couples who raise chickens.
we rent a church campground with camper hookups and a dining hall and bunk beds for those who do not have campers. It goes from today through Sunday.
we do pot luck. and maybe a beer or two..
sometimes chickens are exchanged.
many years ago I got a small mulberry tree.
this year it looks like we will get our first berries

No hay yet. Fields are still too wet on the low ends. I did do some lawn mowing yesterday. Our yard is a crazy jungle. I haven't mowed in a year or so. We need to prune up some shrubs. It was quite the adventure I don't wish to repeat for a while.

Had to wet my garden boxes a bit today. Husband is thinking about stripping the last section of house roof this weekend. If we can't make hay he wants to finish the roof. He gets frustrated doing nothing.

Sorry about the no haying, Lisa.
I have a work truck parked on the side of the yard
We decided to have it picked up by the auto wrecker. Time really flies.. the last time I had it licensed was 2006 .
There are a few things stored in it.
some scaffold, an outboard motor, a radial arm saw,
some gas cans.
I can't just pull it out enough to empty it because of the 2" tree trunk growing up through mirror bracket. lol I will have to put on my lumberjack hat
but not tomorrow. we are going on a picnic.
Annie made cowboy beans .
