Dreaming of Spring Gardening in the Middle of a Wisconsin winter part 2

I watered with the hose today.
could hear thunder to the north again.
then at 7;38 it began to rain. it rained very hard until 8;08,,
Annie helped me to put a new chain on the chain saw. we worked at it for a long time. it was very hot and humid in the garage, finally , before one of us could murder the other, she went into the house and called the shop where I buy my lawn mower parts., they said bring it right in. we did. he put the chain on and adjusted everything. said that kind of saw is a real buggar to get the chain on.
didn't charge us anything. I guess he felt it was his good deed to save a marriage,.lol
a friend's goat had just one kid. a boy,
kind of a let down after another of her goats had quads, all girls..

Glad to hear that you and Annie are both alive and the marriage also survived! Good call on the part of the repair shop guy!

No rain yet today, but there's been quite the lightning show. In less than a week, I'm heading to Lake Superior for my annual trip. There's a lot I'd like to get done outside but it's impossible with the daily downpours.

I saw on the news that a town in this county got 5 1/2 inches of rain. As I was talking about it with one of the bank tellers, she pulled out her cell phone and showed me her rain gauge with more than 6 inches. And to think, a few months ago, we were worried about another drought.

Quad kids are cool -- unless you're the mama goat who has to try to feed all those ravenous kids at once. :)

Hot, humid. The big question of the day is how long can I stand out in the beating sun watering? Talking overnight rain, so maybe just water a bit and run back to the house.

Jim glad you saved your marriage. :)

I had one pygmy doe give birth to 4. One didn't make. 3 was a lot for her to nurse. I miss goat breeding, but I'm also glad I no longer have anything to breed. It was too addictive to keep making more, and more, and more.

thanks , we made it 60 years. I guess a few more won't be too bad.
like a good catholic neighbor lady told my mom.
divorce is not an option, but murder is not out of the question.
my goat friend is happy, she is downsizing. she sold 5 goats in two days. about 5 more to go.
some of the squashes are reaching over the sides of the planter.

The heat advisory broke at 7 p.m. and, the predicted overnight severe weather passed by without even a light rain.

Last night I opened the bathroom door -- where Calypso has been recovering since her spay surgery -- to find she had leaped up onto the window sill and was checking out the yard where she used to roam.

Since it appears she is sufficiently healed, I took off the dreaded Cone of Shame and she spent the next 10 minutes cleaning herself from head to toe.

In a perfect world, she and Jinx -- who is still in the Paw Hut on the deck -- would happily and without incident integrate into the basement with Ozzie and my elder girl, Ziva. Yeah, that would be just too great, wouldn't it?

I am planning to take the month-old chicks out to an enclosed run for their first field trip. I feel as if I've neglected them a bit while I've been dealing with feline drama. Plus, it's been hard to find a day when the grass isn't wet from the daily downpours.

Barb, cats are not like that unfortunately. We have a stray that showed up last fall, probably dumped, that I've named Doppelganger. He looks almost like one of ours, but he isn't. He's still here, and occasionally fights with mine. I do believe it's a he, and that it's neutered, which supports the dumping theory. I doubt mine will ever fully accept him, and I can't get near him, but apparently I'm feeding him well.

I find male cats get along better than females. My females are always hissing at their sisters, and the older pair can no longer be together.

I sure would like to add another pair, but our place couldn't handle it.

Still hot and very humid. Woke up to windows covered in condensation outside. Wish this stuff would move along.

Jim congratulations on 60 years together. That's quite unusual these days.
