Dreaming of Spring Gardening in the Middle of a Wisconsin winter part 2

Another warm up, which generally means mud and muddy paws. I prefer frozen ground this time of year. End of the year is coming up quickly. Maybe winter will go quickly too.

Glad you kitty is feeling better Barb. Sorry you couldn't go to your event, and sorry your EE has a bad eye. You are due for better luck. Hopefully it's on it's way for you.

good day,
not much news around here.
kind of in limbo, waiting for the rubber gaskets for the beer bottles to come. in the meantime I have the beer on the porch , cold crashing. what that does is stop the yeast from working and it sinks to the bottom of the bucket. the weather is perfect for it. it has to cool to just above freezing. the outside temp is 27F. a little warmer on the porch. I did cold crashing with the wine. it turned out very clear.

It is pretty out with the snow Jim. Not good for driving though. Hopefully Annie and DD make it home okay. Seems after a freezing weekend we will warm back up into the 30's for Christmas. So enjoy the snow while it's here. Not that I do anything enjoyable in the snow anymore.

looks like I am the only one who can't sleep.
I woke up at 1am
called the Li'l olde wine shoppe. she said my rubber seals are still in the warehouse. anybody wanna bet she forgot to order them ?
going to Walmar t to buy some canning labels.
then stop at the red apple for lunch. they make a big hamburger on a big bun. the newish Mexican cook is really talented.

You’re not the only one! :gig We did Christmas shopping and took my Jim for spinal X-rays. Not sure why I’m still awake.
Your brewing and wine making sounds fun! I made wine once and we brewed for a year or two, until we wore out our electric stove. By the time we put a gas cooktop in and redid the kitchen I guess we were on to other things. It was fun though, I love having things bubbling!
Now it’s just sourdough bubbles!

I hope you get some sleep!
