I'm polish and German, but was born in Chicago, so that makes me Irish for today by my calculations.

Weather sure is depressing today. To cheer myself up I set some eggs under a couple of bantam hens. I'm hoping in 3 weeks we are above freezing at least during the day.

Hope adorable Brewster is doing fine. Dogs in cones always look so pathetic!

I have a good deal of Irish heritage, but none of the critters out here cared at all. On the other hand, I didn't have to dig through the closet to find green apparel.

Although my Walla Walla seeds germinated indoors, my failure to properly keep them watered killed most. I started another flat yesterday, misted it, covered it with plastic and turned on the heat mat.

At Bomgaars Tuesday, I bought a few seed potatoes, although I've never had a great potato harvest. I am going to keep trying to grow veggies until I actually get good at it --the Irish bull-headedness keeps me trying.

It's 7 degrees! I need to get hay but haven't been able to because my hay guy's barn is set well back on the property and it WAS a muddy mess back there. I can't imagine it won't be hardened up today. But, then I need to hurry because it's headed back up to the 40s, starting tomorrow.

I have been experiencing occasional shortness of breath lately. I figured I'd better get it checked out. All my blood work was fine, my EKG, too. I'm scheduled for a chest x-ray next month and some other test I can't remember. I think the stress of tests and exams is probably causing me to have more problems breathing . I'm not telling my sister about any of it because she will overreact, which I certainly don't need.

I might not have even gone to the doctor if it weren't for all those darned TV ads where people with minor symptoms end up having major health problems (which, not coincidentally, can be expensively treated by the medicine being promoted). Another good reason to watch less television.

Yeah Barb, watching less TV will improve your health.
Wow, I just tasted my coffee. It is an eye opener. I
didn't add quite enough water .
we make coffee a cup at a time.
5 degree here when I went to bed.
sun is shining nicely at sunrise..
If I don't get out to the shop soon, I am going to
have my table way over engineered..
lots of snow melted when it rained,, but no bare
spots in the field, yet..
