Dreaming of Spring Gardening in the Middle of a Wisconsin winter part 2

Chili sounds delicious today Jim. We just got a good downpour and now have puddles. Figures since husband was talking about doing some roofing next week. I told him once it starts raining on October it keeps going. Hopefully he can get it done before that happens.

I always intend to, and usually do, water new trees on Saturday mornings. However, my failure to remember that yesterday worked out fine.

For an hour Saturday afternoon, dark skies poured torrents of hard rain that combined with some pretty strong winds. No damage, although the front gate blew open. Total rainfall: 1 1/2 inches. I'm sure my trees aren't thirsty now; it had also rained a half inch on Friday.

It thundered and rumbled for over an hour , Sunday.
finally it began to rain, and rain it did. wave after
wave of heavy rain . it thundered for a few hours.
after dark, it finally stopped.
they tell me we got about two inches.
the apple tree is still producing. we have
never had such large apples before.
Annie is freezing bags of them for future pies.

I had some dental work done yesterday. over 3 1/2 hours in the chair.
You would think, after all these years, that they would figure out a
way to keep patients from drowning.
today one of our nieces is picking us up for an outing.
it is her gift to us for our 60th anniversary. should be fun..
we are negotiating with one of Annie's sisters to buy her
extra car. our old Buick just can't get up and go anymore..
Time to put it out of our misery.

Yikes Jim that's a long time in the dentist chair. My neck and, shoulders, and mouth are all hurt thinking about it. I don't think I could of handled that.

Those Buicks can last a long time, but apparently not forever. Hope you get a good deal on the new car. Maybe throw is some apple pie.

I am back, bet you didn't even know I was gone.
we have a new provider. when the guy buried
the cable in, he hooked the wire to the wrong
lugs in the pedestal at the road. as a result,
we were out of service for three days.
the new service is fiber optics. it combines
internet, cell phone, land line phone and TV.
costs about half of what Frontier was.
I did go to the dentist. had two caps replaced
and two cavities fixed. my mouth is still sore
after four days.
I don't foresee going to the dentist for the rest
of my life..
We had a heck of a thunderstorm this morning.
it lasted two hours. had a little hail, too.
