Dreaming of Spring Gardening in the Middle of a Wisconsin winter part 2

Have you gotten forgiveness from the cat yet? The formerly stray spayed female and neutered male have an appointment this morning for their last round of shots.
He sauntered in through the cat door this morning, so apparently all is forgiven. Good luck taking your kitties in.

Annie's "panther" is still hanging around. I have not seen it.
the deer are coming at all hours of the day.
I can see light at the end of the tunnel in the mower shed. If I can stand the heat tomorrow, I should git er done.
I thought the neg wire slipped out of the wire nut again. I opened up the box and all the wires were intact. so, why didn't the ligt go on? Annie said, did you check to see if the bulb was loose ? so, I checked it....it was loose.
I had to choose a new route from the shed to the garage. the squash vines have taken over my short path. getting flowers .
If I cut the tips off of the vines, will that direct the energy into the squash ?
a lot of my tomato leaves have turned black and dried up. the vines look quite bare, but the tomatoes are growing and ripening

stay hydrated . water is best.
but a glass of wine wouldn't hurt

Jim I often trim down my squash vines so they put their energy into less fruit. Otherwise they keep just sending out new vines.

Husband is baling second crop hay today.

Did anyone else get that strong smoke smell last night and into this morning?

thanks Lisa
that was my thought also. I have several vines. if each one gives me just one fruit, I will have more than enough. even would have enough to share.
i worked in the shed for over an hour. had to take a break from the heat.
I did not smell any smoke last night.
today is a perfect day for making hay, eh?
what kind of bales does he make ? round? square? thrown? wire tied ? yes, I am that old..
a person could lose an eye when you cut that wire.
i remember the large piles of used baling wires.
I have three more 2x4's to cut to length and then I can put the shelving on. not looking forward to going back out there, though.
I will have to water the plants today

Small square bales with twine. Never seen wire tied. That must of been murder on the hands for carrying. We will probably get around 100 bales, give or take.

I gave the one dog a bath and blow out. Still shedding. Coats looking darker so she must be finally getting to the end of it.

All cats are in the basement. This is not going well. My 15-year-old kitty is unhappy, and the three who came here together as strays seem to hate each other now. I am listening to near-constant yowling.

I am almost tempted to let one, two or all three "new" cats return to the great outdoors. Of course, I have spent a fortune vetting them and would have to go back to worrying about their safety every day.

I am still So Mad at the person who abandoned these cats!!

Was not as hot here yesterday as predicted. Hope they are wrong about today, too. I have plenty I should be doing but I have enough to deal with, without getting heatstroke.

Stay safe, everyone. And, Jim, don't get tangled in that jungle of vines you've created :)
