Dreaming of Spring Gardening in the Middle of a Wisconsin winter part 2

as long as I don't have to shovel it or travel in it. i don't mind the snow. no snow here yet.
hopped on the tractor a couple of days ago. poked the starter and nada. went into the house. thought about it until the next day. went back out. twisted the neg terminal and it started. now i have to find a 1/2" wrench and tighten the bolt down. waiting for a warmish sunny day to do that.
have a half dozen items on craigslist and marketplace for sale. sales are not doing too well.
had the riding zero turn lawn mower for 90.oo had one guy offer me 50.oo. turned him down and went in and raised the price to 190.oo, now they can whittle me down.
the motor alone is worth between 300.oo and 500.oo on ebay.
i guess i should just put those people in my will and give the stuff away.

Jim, I think it's fine to put the stuff in your will -- as long as no one gets it for a Very Long Time!!

I bought an Urban Coop off Craiglist years ago. The seller said everyone else tried to talk him down to the point that he would have burned it before he sold it to them. I am as much a bargain hunter as anyone, but there's bargaining and there's being insulting. Now, like many retailers, you will raise the price so you can sell at a "discount". Ah, the American way! 😆

Today, it is 21 degrees, and yesterday's snow is crusty. At first, the fluffy flakes melted as they hit the ground. However, by the end of the 6-plus hours, snow had accumulated. The temperature hovered around, above and slightly below freezing, and snow eventually came down wet and heavy.

This is not the pretty Christmas snow that @Cebarmlds and I would appreciate. Not looking forward to trudging out, switching out frozen poultry waterers and sympathizing with my birds.

This week, a furnace repairman came out and reattached the rails that hold the filters in place. Said he'd never seen a spot weld so old that it just gave out and the rails fell off. I feel special.

He also got my propane-powered fireplace running again. It doesn't have an electric start so I can use it during my annual winter power outages.

While snow was piling up, I was warm and cozy at the Ford dealership for three hours where my 10-year-old car was having both tie rods replaced.

It feels like the start of a long winter already.

Barb they are talking 50 degrees again next weekend. Our snow won't stay yet, but gives us a chance to make sure everything is ready to go for when it does stay.

I guess I took too many naps yesterday. couldn't get to sleep. luckily i had plenty of Wagon Train episodes recorded. finally got to bed at 5AM. a glass of wine helped the situation.
the guy with the rabbit sh^t called. he is delivering a load at 1PM today. DD Barby is paying the $20.oo for it. I have to bite the bullet and go out into the cold and tighten the neg. terminal on Ollie's battery
i want to knock the oats down before he gets here.
going to try to talk Annie into making some
choc chip cookies or a carrot cake.
no snow here yet.
