dried leaves for litter

I've been using nothing but leaves for a solid year now and haven't had any of those problems.

That's great to know since we live in similar regions (I'm from Massachusetts.) How do you store them so they stay dry?

Maybe it's because the pile is kind of under trees, or maybe it's because leaves have a natural "shingle effect", but they don't seem to get too wet, or they dry out quickly if they do.
