Dried meal worms at TSC - are my 4 week old chicks too young?

Since I can't seem to stop myself from meandering through TSC at the first of every week to see what new chicks have come in, I've become quite familiar with their stock. This week they added dried meal worms in the chick event display area.

How old do the chicks need to be before I try it? Will they need grit with the worms? So far the only treat they've had is boiled egg, which they liked once they finally tried it.

Thanks all!

I know for live ones they need grit, so I would guess with dried worms they would also...

Yeah, that. I've given meal worms to chicks at that age. But I also have chick grit in there when I do.

My serama chicks go haywire over them. They go outside with their mom and I'm guessing getting grit because I don't feed them any. Watch your fingers after they learn what they are LOL

Hi! I gave them to mine at 1 week, but only as treats. They LOVE them. They have constant access to grit and never really seemed interested in it until after the first meal worm treats.

Thanks everyone! I've been giving them grit when they're in their outside pen, even though they probably didn't really need it. I'm going to try them tomorrow, I'll watch my fingers, and check Lowe's, TSC was definitely more expensive.
