I have some friends that have a device that sounds off in the house like a doorbell when someone starts down the driveway, works great, not sure where they got it.

Our driveway gate is down at the road, 1/2 mile away. My dogs alert at any car slowing down on the road and go crazy when they turn into the driveway! We do keep our gate chained and locked because a former employee proved (after she left), to be the biggest thief and liar I've ever met. But my dogs are my best long distance warning system.

I don't do dogs.I love dogs but raise birds instead. I'd have to train the dog to not kill my birds & just don't have the time. Plus, I can sell eggs & haven't bought eggs in years.
