I went and picked up 5- five week old Buff hens today they were a gift. Got their new dwelling ready and started taking them out of the box the last one had like clear drool hanging from its little mouth(beak). I don't know if it's sick or the trip in the box home was to much for her. I got them home and left them in the box with food & water and waited about 3 hours to put them in the new dwelling. any Ideas? They were all pretty lively when I picked them out and put them in the box to transport them but since I got them home they have just kinda laid down and not moved.

Had they been outside on grass yet? The drooling one may have been overheated, but I would watch him for crop issues. Most chicks at that age will kind of freeze up with any new change in location. Make sure they have some grit if they are on grass or getting things to eat other than chick feed (such as scratch, etc.) You may still feed them round the clock, but if they sleep all night they should have empty crops in the morning. Check little Mr. Drooly for a full crop which might be impacted.
