I have one out of three hens (about 6 months old) who's comb started drooping about 2 weeks ago. The weather here was very hot--100+ heat index, so I thought it was that. (they have shade throughout the day) The other hens of same age have shorter combs, not droopable height. After cooler weather, comb did not stand up. She is eating, drinking, and just started laying this week, but I am worried something might be wrong as last year when this happened with another hen, she died. The combs of all 4 hens aren't bright red, but mottled white. Does anyone know what this could be?

If the combs have changed color this can be due to stress, lack of water or even some sort of parasite. Some breeds have naturally droopy combs as well (e.g. mediterranean breeds) , pics would help
