We have a three month old black australorp that is acting sick. I just noticed it this morning, she was walking around slowly with her eyes closed and acting droopy. The big pointer was when I went out to the coop and she didn't move. We brought her inside and put her in a box. She has not yet pooped, and is now sitting I'm my lap with her eyes closed. 3 months is too young for egg bound, so what could it be?
There is the possibility that she could have eaten some moldy chicken feed.

At 3 months she still could be susceptible to coccidiosis infection. It is treated with Corid (amprollium) and the symptoms include lethargic, not eating, standing hunched or puffed up, and runny droppings or blood in the stools. Corid is found in the cattle medicines at feed stores. Sulmet is a second choice if corid cannot be found.

Do you know if there is a withholding period for eggs during Amprolium dosage? Our flock is getting Corid right now, and I'm wondering if there's any reason not to eat the eggs. Thanks!
